Job Description

A Service Advisor is a pivotal role in the automotive industry, acting as the bridge between the vehicle owner and the service team. Charged with providing top-notch customer service, the Service Advisor takes the lead in managing customer inquiries, requests, and complaints related to vehicle servicing. Working closely with technicians to ensure timely and accurate completion of repairs, the Service Advisor must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of automotive functions and repair processes to effectively advise clients on necessary services and repairs. The ultimate goal is to ensure customer satisfaction, team efficiency, and revenue growth through effective service management and client relations.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assess their vehicle service needs effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide detailed information on estimated costs, repair requirements, and timeframes to customers.
  • Schedule service appointments and ensure optimal workflow for the service department.
  • Communicate with technicians to relay customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately.
  • Ensure all customer interactions are documented and feedback is recorded for service improvement.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally, seeking resolutions swiftly to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Advise customers on necessary or recommended services in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and solicit feedback.
  • Maintain knowledge of warranty and policy information to guide customer decisions effectively.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for scheduled services.
  • Develop relationships with customers to assure long-term trust and loyalty in the service brand.
  • Uphold company service standards and participate in training programs as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced education is a plus.
  • Experience in a customer service role within the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction.
  • Skilled in multitasking and managing multiple customer inquiries simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using computer software for service management and scheduling.
  • Good understanding of automotive technology and vehicle service processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
