Job Description

A Service Advisor is a crucial link between the customer and the service team at an automotive or equipment repair business. This position requires a professional who can manage customer service activities efficiently, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty. The Service Advisor listens to customer concerns and needs regarding vehicle issues, provides guidance on necessary maintenance and repairs, and manages the service work to completion, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, and technical knowledge of vehicles are essential for success in this role. A Service Advisor also works closely with technicians and management, maintaining records and ensuring all service operations are smooth and efficient. Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with their service needs and inquiries effectively.
  • Explain service and repair work to customers in a clear, concise manner.
  • Coordinate with technicians to ensure services are completed on time and correctly.
  • Record and track customer interactions and vehicle repairs for accuracy.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for automotive services and repairs.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt, professional service.
  • Schedule repair appointments and accurately document service requests.
  • Monitor the progress of vehicle repairs and update customers accordingly.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Stay informed about latest automotive technology, repair techniques, and service promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with all dealership or service center policies and procedures.
  • Build strong customer relationships to foster repeat business and referrals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
  • Proven automotive repair and maintenance consultation experience needed.
  • Strong understanding of automotive technology and repair processes.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and automotive service software helpful.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work weekends or late shifts as needed by the business.
