We are seeking an experienced Senior Underground Structures Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex underground structural projects, including tunnels, basements, metro systems, and deep foundations. You will be responsible for ensuring structural integrity, safety compliance, and project efficiency while working with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic construction environment.

• Design and analyze underground structures using advanced CAD and finite element analysis (FEA) software, ensuring compliance with international and local building codes
• Conduct geotechnical investigations and soil mechanics assessments to determine foundation requirements and underground construction feasibility
• Develop detailed construction methodologies and sequencing plans for underground projects, considering site-specific conditions and environmental factors
• Oversee site investigations, including soil boring programs, laboratory testing, and geotechnical reporting
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless coordination and timely project delivery
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and construction drawings
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for underground construction hazards
• Monitor construction progress and provide on-site technical support to ensure adherence to design specifications
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
• Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in underground engineering
  
  
  

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in underground structures engineering, geotechnical engineering, or related fields
• Proven expertise in designing and analyzing tunnels, basements, metro systems, or deep foundation structures
• Advanced proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, PLAXIS, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and foundation engineering
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D modeling software
• Comprehensive understanding of underground construction methodologies and sequencing
• Familiarity with international building codes and Middle Eastern construction standards
• Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in technical report writing and documentation
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in construction
• Preferred: Experience with metro or transit system projects in the Middle East region
• Preferred: Advanced certifications in geotechnical or structural engineering
• Senior engineering for underground structures
• Experience with Rail projects required
• Retaining structure design
• Cut and Cover tunnel experience
• TBM experience including lining design
