Context

Senior Track Design Engineer

Missions/Main Duties

  • Lead the development and review of detailed track alignment and system designs for high-speed railways, ensuring compliance with client requirements, international standards (e.g., AREMA, EN, UIC), and UAE regulations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs including civil works, geotechnics, structures, and MEP to deliver integrated and constructible high-speed track solutions.
  • Perform technical assessments of alignment, track geometry, superstructure, substructure, and slab/ballastless track systems.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation, specifications, and drawings.
  • Participate in value engineering, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for track-related works.
  • Liaise with client representatives, stakeholders, contractors, and authorities to ensure project objectives, approvals, and interfaces are met.
  • Support procurement activities including preparation of technical requirements, evaluation of bids, and review of contractor/consultant submittals.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practices in design and safety.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction as required.

Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Background

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in rail infrastructure engineering, with proven experience in high-speed track design.
  • Strong familiarity with international railway standards and design codes (AREMA, EN, UIC, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of CAD and railway design software (Bentley Rail Track, OpenRail, Civil 3D, etc.).
  • Experience in the GCC or UAE railway projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Chartered status preferred.
