Senior Technical Engineer

Role Purpose

To lead and oversee all structural engineering activities across projects, ensuring compliance with UAE authority regulations, international codes, and project specifications. The Senior Technical Engineer – Structural provides expert guidance to technical teams, reviews complex structural designs, and serves as the primary liaison with consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies for structural matters.

Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and mentor junior technical engineers, draughtsmen, and BIM modelers in structural disciplines.
• Lead the review and approval of structural shop drawings, calculations, and method statements.
• Ensure proper allocation of tasks and monitor team performance.

Technical Oversight

• Review and validate design consultants’ drawings and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct structural analysis reviews to verify compliance with design and safety standards.
• Approve structural material submittals, fabrication drawings, and pre/post-concreting inspections.

Authority & Client Liaison

• Interface with Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, and other authorities for structural approvals.
• Act as the key technical point of contact with clients and consultants for structural design matters.
• Support tendering and prequalification submissions with structural expertise.

Project & Quality Management

• Ensure adherence to international structural codes (ACI, BS, Eurocodes, etc.) and UAE building codes.
• Lead QA/QC reviews for concrete, steel, and foundation works.
• Provide expert input into value engineering proposals and design optimization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
• 8 - 12 years related working experience in well-established Contracting Companies in GCC, with 3 – 5 years in a senior / lead role.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and BIM tools.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Familiarity with UAE authority submission requirements and procedures.
• Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, externally and internally
