Senior Systems Accountant in our office in Dubai

The Senior Systems Accountant will act as the bridge between Finance and SAP departments, responsible for overseeing the operational optimization of the financial system, currently based in SAP.

The ideal candidate will guide the Finance department and broader business in best practices with financial processes and control, data, and reporting standards to ensure clear, concise, and consistent information is used for Accounting, Reporting, Regulatory and Audit requirements.

The incumbent will work with third party vendors, where appropriate, to aid the development of the system and will be the principal finance contact for third parties.

Responsibilities

• Be the steward within finance for the financial system, partnering with different departments in Equiti to ensure security, completeness and accuracy of data flows into financial system.
• Work with third party vendors to co-ordinate the development of financial systems as per business requirements, ensuring they meet the deliverables agreed in a timely manner, while working as the SAP ambassador for the business
• Support department leads on any key strategic initiatives to optimizing financial systems, implementations and transformation projects
• Leverage project management experience to ensure seamless integrations and processes across financial systems.
• Lead design of system controls to ensure accuracy, transparency and security of financial data along best practices.
• Actively seek opportunities to improve both system and user efficiency, leading on initiatives to enhance system capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance to finance ensuring that team members have resources and support to succeed, developing and deliver training programs to empower users.
• Support finance throughout audits

Skills & Competencies

• Strong team leadership ability, including ability to mentor
• Strong project management skills to co-ordinate and execute on system improvements and implementations.
• Ability to turn requirements into clear deliverables and measurable outcomes
• Understanding of how to turn data into reliable actionable insights

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years working with SAP S4Hana and/or SAP based systems
• Industry experience in financial data and system management
• Strong understanding of how Finance departments operate
• Understanding analytics best practices
• Involvement in system implementations and transformation projects.
• Educated to degree level (BA/BSc or equivalent) in related field with proven experience in financial systems management, with further education preference in accounting qualification.
