The Senior Subcontracts Specialist is a pivotal role within our procurement team, responsible for managing the pre-award and post-award subcontracting processes. This position involves extensive coordination with internal departments and external vendors to ensure that subcontract agreements align with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. As a Senior Subcontracts Specialist, you will oversee the creation, negotiation, and administration of subcontract agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and the achievement of project objectives. Your role will also include the strategic sourcing of vendors and the development of innovative subcontracting strategies to enhance the organization's competitive advantage. A successful candidate will possess excellent negotiation skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of subcontracting services.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire subcontracting process from pre-award to post-award phases.
  • Develop, negotiate, and administer complex subcontracts agreements with a variety of vendors.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure subcontract requirements align with project needs.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Conduct strategic sourcing activities to identify and evaluate potential subcontractors.
  • Manage and resolve contract disputes and issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to contracted terms.
  • Prepare subcontract status reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on subcontracting strategies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the legal department to review and finalize subcontract agreements.
  • Ensure cost-effective subcontracting processes without sacrificing quality or safety.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards affecting subcontracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in subcontract management or related field.
  • Proven experience in negotiating complex subcontract agreements with various vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement policies, contract law, and industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and other related tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
