Job Description

The Senior Subcontracts Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and contract terms and conditions. This role will require you to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project management, procurement, legal, and finance departments. You will lead negotiations, draft subcontract agreements, and effectively manage subcontractor performance. The successful Senior Subcontracts Specialist will have a deep understanding of subcontracting principles and practices, possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Lead negotiations for subcontract agreements and ensure favorable terms for the company.
  • Draft, review, and approve subcontract agreements in line with company policies.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Analyze and resolve subcontract-related issues and disputes in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with project management and procurement teams to align subcontracting activities.
  • Ensure all subcontract documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Implement strategies for risk mitigation, cost control, and quality assurance in subcontracts.
  • Prepare and present reports on subcontracting activities to senior management.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members on subcontract management processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting subcontracting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in subcontract management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in subcontract management, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of subcontracting principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in negotiating complex contract terms and conditions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
