Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Senior Structural Engineer – Bridges to lead and oversee the construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of bridge structures across RTA projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in bridge engineering, including expansion joints, bearings, and structural distress (crack analysis in concrete structures), ensuring all works are executed to the highest quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of bridge construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation works in accordance with RTA standards and project specifications.
  • Supervise daily site activities, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, method statements, and project timelines.
  • Conduct detailed inspections and technical assessments of bridge components including expansion joints, bearings, and structural elements.
  • Diagnose and analyze various types of concrete cracks (structural, shrinkage, thermal, settlement, etc.) and recommend appropriate repair methodologies.
  • Plan and coordinate site activities, optimizing manpower, materials, and equipment utilization.
  • Liaise with RTA representatives, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure strict compliance with RTA regulations, QA/QC standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements related to bridge works.
  • Identify potential risks and technical challenges, proposing practical engineering solutions.
  • Participate in client inspections, audits, and progress meetings, representing the organization professionally.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 10+ years of UAE experience in bridge construction and rehabilitation projects.
  • Mandatory experience working on RTA projects in Dubai.
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Bridge structures and components
    • Expansion joints and bridge bearings (installation, inspection, maintenance)
    • Concrete deterioration mechanisms and crack identification/repair techniques
  • Proficiency in reviewing structural drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards and RTA guidelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.


Additional Information

  • Experience in both steel and concrete bridge structures
  • Hands-on experience in bridge inspection and condition assessment
  • Knowledge of asset management systems for infrastructure maintenance
