To supervise and manage all site store operations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and control of materials and equipment in compliance with company policies and procedures. The Senior Storekeeper ensures optimal inventory accuracy, timely reporting, and proper coordination between site teams, procurement, and central stores.
Key Accountabilities
Supervise all storekeeping activities at the project site, ensuring compliance with company procedures and HSE regulations.
Review and approve material requests prepared in Oracle by the store team before submission to the Project Manager for approval.
Coordinate with the procurement department and suppliers for timely delivery of approved materials.
Verify received materials against LPOs and delivery notes, ensuring quality, quantity, and compliance with specifications.
Arrange inspections and approvals of materials as required by QA/QC and consultants.
Oversee proper storage, tagging, and stacking of materials as per safety and project standards.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of GRNs and submission to the accounts department after necessary approvals.
Control and authorize material issuance to site teams against approved requests.
Monitor daily updates in the Oracle system for material movements and ensure all transactions are approved by the Construction Manager.
Conduct and supervise monthly physical inventory checks and reconcile with system records, report discrepancies to the Stores Manager and Project Manager.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for material status, equipment movement, and inventory summaries.
Coordinate with Central Store for material transfers, formwork, scaffolding, and other reusable items.
Liaise with the workshop for allocation of equipment and with suppliers for rental arrangements when required.
Support procurement in obtaining quotations for special materials and rental equipment; review and recommend the most suitable options for approval.
Supervise, guide, and evaluate the performance of Assistant Storekeepers and store helpers.
Ensure all store areas are maintained in clean, safe, and organized conditions.
Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies, reporting incidents or violations promptly.
Maintain strong coordination and communication between site, central stores, and relevant departments.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Diploma or vocational training in Storekeeping, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (preferred).
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in construction/infrastructure projects, including supervisory responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of materials, equipment, and consumables used in civil and infrastructure works.
Ability to lead and train store staff, plan workload, and ensure compliance with procedures.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills in English (Urdu/Hindi an advantage).
Proficiency in MS Office and Oracle or similar ERP systems.
Flexibility to work under pressure and in outdoor/site environments.
Should have extensive warehouse experience in infrastructure and road projects.
Previous work experience in the UAE.
Hold a high school diploma, bachelors degree, or equivalent.
