The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence to join our team at Presight Kazakhstan. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex business and operational data into clear, actionable insights that support decision-making across the organization. You will design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models, working closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver high-quality analytics that drive measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that track key business and operational KPIs across departments.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define metrics, and translate business questions into analytical solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust data models, semantic layers, and ETL/ELT pipelines that feed BI tools from multiple source systems.
• Conduct in-depth ad hoc analysis to investigate business performance trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across BI reports, collaborating with data engineering teams on data quality issues.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Establish and document BI best practices, naming conventions, and reporting standards to ensure consistency across the organization.
• Mentor junior analysts and business users on self-service BI tools and best practices.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of BI dashboards and underlying queries.
• Stay current with emerging BI tools, visualization techniques, and industry best practices, recommending improvements where relevant.
• Comply with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management and Governance of Organizations policies, procedures, plans and related risk assessments.
  
  

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting roles, with a track record of delivering BI solutions that drive business decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, with experience designing data models (star/snowflake schemas) for analytical workloads.
• Experience working with relational databases and modern data warehouses (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, ClickHouse).
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data preparation and automation is a strong plus.
• Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including senior business leaders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data governance, security, and access-control principles in a BI context.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
