Job Purpose
- Provide all required geological interpretation to produce reliable, accurate integrated subsurface description as a basis for well planning, reservoir modeling and reserves estimation.
- Independently integrate geophysical and reservoir engineering data with available geological description to deliver a coherent subsurface description and up-to-date static reservoir models of field of responsibilities.
- Accountable of building a detailed sedimentological models for different reservoirs currently under development as well as future exploration portfolio.
- Provide risk assessments and recommendations of all wells drilled in Cheleken asset based on detailed geological analysis.
- Provide geological expertise required for the implementation of Field Development Plan.
- Supervise in-house and third-party geological studies to be carried out on behalf of the company.
Job Responsibilities
Delivering safe operations by ensuring all subsurface uncertainties and risks are well communicated and considered by the drilling and engineering teams.
Assess subsurface risks which might impact the drilling performance. Work closely with drilling team to optimize the drilling plan to minimize the exposure to different subsurface risks.
Conduct detailed sedimentological studies based on core logging, petrography, diagenesis and integration of open-hole logs, seismic attributes and dynamic data to model all elements of the basin-fill history to particularly facilitate development and exploration of the shallow marine Red-Series sequences.
Provide analysis of well data in terms of sedimentary architecture, facies and depositional environment.
Establish detailed sequence stratigraphic framework and build a range of depositional models for Cheleken reservoirs integrating all available data.
Carry out detailed geological studies, incorporating relevant aspects of other disciplines, in order to support field development plan.
Ensure that an up-to-date geological interpretation is in place with a clear documentation of subsurface assumptions and uncertainties for all fields of responsibilities.
Update the subsurface description of fields of responsibilities with the results of the latest drilling activities.
Responsible for building an integrated subsurface description for fields of responsibilities considering different subsurface scenarios, integrating available seismic interpretation, historical wells dynamic performance, and offset wells correlation and reservoir characterization.
Propose special studies as required (e.g., sedimentological related studies). Validate and assure all delivered technical products.
Work closely with drilling and geological operations teams to supervise and monitor the drilling of future wells in-line with Cheleken FDP.
Provide geological information to assist in the well planning process.
Participate in the management and updating of geoscience databases supporting DO technical data analyst. Oversee loading of well data, and all related geological interpretations into the technical software applications.
Provide advice and support regarding geological software requirements.
Education
- Bachelor degree in Geophysics, Geology or Geoscience. Masters/Post graduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with major or independent operating companies. International experience. Strong experience in working out multi-layered clastic reservoirs in exploration, appraisal and development geology in complex structure basins. Experience in Caspian region is preferred.
