Job Description

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a vital part of our project management team, overseeing the cost and financial aspects of construction projects. Your role will involve collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed within budget and in compliance with all relevant quality standards. You will be responsible for estimating costs, managing financial budgets, preparing detailed reports, and liaising with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing project risks and improving profitability while maintaining a high standard of service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind, exemplary leadership skills, and extensive experience in the construction industry.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed project budgets and cost plans for construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough cost analyses and risk assessments to support financial decision-making.
  • Prepare and oversee the issuance of tender documents and bid reviews for contractors.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors to ensure favorable terms.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to the project budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide accurate cost advice and financial forecasts to aid project management decisions.
  • Manage the process of identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of financial transactions, variations, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards in all financial transactions.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing insight on financial issues and resolving disputes.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors in developing their industry knowledge.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to stakeholders and senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a quantity surveying role.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts, cost estimation, and financial management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
