The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a pivotal role within our engineering team, providing leadership and expertise in the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems and components. This position demands a seasoned professional with a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projects from conception through to execution and beyond, ensuring compliance with industry standards, quality assurance programs, and client specifications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, and production staff, to ensure that all mechanical engineering work aligns with the project objectives and delivery timelines. Moreover, the role involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to the development of our technical methodologies, and maintaining an innovative approach to overcoming mechanical engineering challenges. We are seeking a detail-oriented yet creative problem solver, who is not only technically proficient but also skilled in client communication and team leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the mechanical engineering aspects of complex projects from start to finish.
  • Develop and evaluate detailed mechanical design documentation and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to assess mechanical designs' feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate component performance under expected conditions.
  • Act as the technical liaison between engineering teams and clients or stakeholders.
  • Manage and review mechanical project budgets and delivery schedules to meet strategic goals.
  • Ensure mechanical systems compliance with global engineering codes and standards.
  • Mentor and manage junior mechanical engineers, fostering technical and professional growth.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of mechanical design and production processes.
  • Report engineering progress and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and apply critical thinking to resolve technical challenges.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of mechanical components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a senior role.
  • Proven experience in the design and implementation of complex mechanical systems.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software and other mechanical design tools.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with experience in mechanical analysis and life cycle assessment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead in high-pressure environments.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in technical documentation.
