The Senior Manager Payroll plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all payroll functions within an organization. This position is responsible for ensuring that payroll is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with statutory regulations and organizational policies. The Senior Manager Payroll will also handle issues related to payroll system maintenance, employee benefits, and taxation compliance. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process to ensure timely and accurate pay distribution.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental laws and regulations concerning payroll practices.
  • Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and performance evaluation.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to ensure efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure data accuracy and integration.
  • Implement strategic payroll initiatives to enhance operational productivity and efficiency.
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary adjustments or corrections when needed.
  • Manage relationships with payroll vendors and service providers, ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Develop and maintain payroll budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and legal regulations, adjusting practices as necessary.
  • Resolve complex payroll issues and discrepancies, providing expert guidance and solutions.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding payroll operations and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in payroll management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxation, and regulations applicable to the industry.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems, with experience in system integration projects.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing large teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in process optimization and implementing best practices within payroll functions.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
