Job Overview:

As a Senior Manager – Asset Management Finance at Emirates NBD, your role is to provide finance support to ENBD Asset Management across its full product suite, client segments, international locations, and managed funds. As part of the Asset Management Finance team, the role leads financial reporting for DIFC/UAE-managed funds and delivers finance support across accounting, regulatory reporting, taxation, performance reporting, and management information. The job holder also ensures consistent application of Group financial policies and the control framework.

Key Responsibilities: 

Oversee the preparation of financial statements of the funds and reports in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Ensure the accuracy of financial information and collaborate with auditors, administrators, tax consultants & other related stakeholders, wrt funds business

Ensure timely submission of financial/regulatory reports to senior management and stakeholders.

VAT and Corporate tax related declarations and timely filings.

Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for the asset management business.

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to asset management performance, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals. 

Support decision-making by providing financial insights and related updates to Senior Management, highlighting risks and opportunities.

Generate regular performance reports for both internal and external stakeholders, providing clear insights into product performance.

Work and support on the budgeting exercise for funds and Asset Management as an entity. Track and report performance against budget.

Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings. Thorough control on the invoicing process and accountability relating to settlements and payments.

Implement financial controls to ensure cost efficiency.

Ensure all financial activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.

Identify and mitigate financial risks related to the business portfolio.

Support internal audits by preparing necessary financial documentation and reports.

Report any compliance or financial risks to senior management promptly.

Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience in the Finance function of a large bank or Asset Management firm.
  • Experience in financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and forecasting within the banking or asset management sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and software.

  • Develop and refine financial models that enable scenario analysis and support investment decisions for asset management initiatives.
  • Interpret financial data to provide clear, actionable insights for departmental leaders, facilitating informed business choices.
  • Synthesise complex performance trends to highlight emerging risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Advise on the financial impact of new product launches, regulatory changes, or strategic projects within the asset management portfolio.

  • Quality and relevance of financial analysis presented to business leaders
  • Influence of insights on departmental decision-making and resource allocation
  • Stakeholder confidence in financial planning outputs

2. Regulatory compliance and financial reporting integrity for asset management entities
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of statutory and management financial reports in accordance with IFRS and MAS requirements.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial disclosures, proactively addressing potential compliance risks.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audits and resolve findings efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving regulatory standards impacting asset management finance and embed changes into reporting processes.
Performance Measures:
  • Absence of material errors or late submissions in regulatory filings
  • Audit outcomes and resolution of identified issues
  • Timeliness and accuracy of financial disclosures

3. Financial control environment strength across asset management finance operations
  • Establish and monitor internal controls over financial processes, ensuring segregation of duties and risk mitigation.
  • Challenge and enhance existing control frameworks in response to emerging operational or regulatory risks.
  • Champion a culture of compliance and ethical conduct within the finance team, reinforcing accountability at all levels.
  • Evaluate control incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and strengthen resilience.
Performance Measures:
  • Effectiveness of internal control reviews and remediation actions
  • Reduction in control breaches or operational losses
  • Demonstrable improvement in compliance culture within the team

4. Business performance enablement through proactive cost management and resource optimisation
  • Scrutinise cost drivers and expenditure trends to identify efficiency opportunities within asset management operations.
  • Collaborate with business partners to set and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Deliver clear recommendations for cost optimisation, balancing investment needs with prudent financial stewardship.
  • Track and report on cost-saving initiatives, quantifying impact and ensuring benefits are realised.
Performance Measures:
  • Realisation of identified cost efficiencies and savings
  • Alignment of budget outcomes with business priorities
  • Business partner feedback on finance support for resource optimisation


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required)
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred
  • Ongoing CPD in financial regulation, digital finance, or data analytics
