Responsible for managing and monitoring of inventory levels, requisitioning materials and equipment, determining material specifications, preventive maintenance material forecasting, item code creation, coordinating with internal departments, managing external stakeholder relations
In This Role You Will
- Item code creation for spare into the MMS system and description setup.
- Induction of items into inventory which require reprovisioning.
- Description amendments after analysing request from various stakeholders such as workshop teams, P&L, Suppliers, or Stores.
- Evaluate the spare parts procured through Purchase Requisition (PR) and converts the required spare parts to inventory if required, to ensure availability and optimise cost.
- Prepare reports on material consumption trends, planning activities, and other inventory performance metrics.
- Support stakeholders in special projects by collecting relevant data, conducting research, and producing reports or technical documentation as needed.
- Preparing cost estimates, performance, and process control reports.
- Review BPA (Blanket Purchase Agreement) contract items for duplication and description amendments prior to BPA setup.
- Evaluate workshop requests for inventory conversion, and inventory parameter update based on consumption trends and equipment age.
- Expedite overdue Purchase Order (PO) items with suppliers based on the promised delivery dates.
- Expedite zero-stock spare parts, Planned Maintenance components, and ad-hoc requests in alignment with grounded asset reports and maintenance trackers.
- Manage shipment bookings and coordinate logistics with freight forwarders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
Responsibilities
Degree Holders with 4 to 6 years of experience or Diploma holder with 6 to 8 years of experience in the field of material planning and inventory management with responsibilities that includes managing and monitoring of inventory levels, requisitioning materials and equipment, determining material specifications, preventive maintenance material forecasting, item code creation, coordinating with internal departments, managing external stakeholder relations, and using computerised maintenance management systems like Maximo or similar, from the below industries:
- GSE and Cargo Workshops in other airports
- Baggage Handling in Airports
- Automobile Workshop; (Cars, pickups, vans, small buses)
- Heavy Equipment (earth moving, trucks, buses, construction, waste management, heavy material handling)
- Process & Manufacturing Industries (refineries, aluminium processing, food processing, automated material handling, paper & plastic products are few examples)
- Transportation industry (rail, metro etc)
Knowledge And Skills
- Training on material planning and inventory management from recognised service providers.
- UAE Driving Licence preferred to gain Airside Driving Permit.
- Proficient understanding of maintenance practices
- English Language Skills – Level 4
- Proficient Communication Skills
- Proficient Safety Awareness Skills
- IT and Computer Literacy specifically Microsoft Office applications
- Quality Orientation Skills
