Senior Litigation Attorney – Civil & Insurance Defense

Multiple East Coast Locations | Full-Time

The Role

We are expanding our senior litigation bench and are seeking experienced civil defense attorneys (7–12+ years) to join our growing regional offices.

This role is designed for litigators who are comfortable managing complex defense matters from inception through resolution. Depending on office location and background, the caseload may include general liability, personal injury defense, product liability, professional liability, construction defect, commercial trucking, employment defense, medical malpractice, and tort litigation.

We are looking for attorneys who can step into an active docket, independently manage files, and contribute strategically to case development while collaborating with partners and clients.

Responsibilities

Manage civil litigation defense matters from assignment through settlement, dispositive motion, or trial

Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances

Draft and argue substantive motions and legal memoranda

Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability and damages exposure

Coordinate with experts and prepare cases for trial

Communicate directly with insurance carriers, corporate clients, and insureds

Maintain organized file management and timely billing

Depending on background and location, attorneys may focus more heavily in one or more of the following areas:

General liability

Personal injury defense

Product liability

Professional liability

Construction defect

Commercial trucking

Employment defense

Medical malpractice

Tort litigation

Qualifications

7–12+ years of civil litigation experience

Insurance defense background strongly preferred

Experience in one or more substantive areas listed above

Strong deposition and motion practice experience

Ability to independently manage cases from suit inception through resolution

Trial preparation experience preferred

Juris Doctor required

Must be licensed in the state where located; additional neighboring state admissions are a plus
