Role Description

As a senior gas trader, you will play a central role in expanding models, developing new trading strategies, managing the portfolio across the curve, and generally having the opportunity to trade both physical and financial products

Responsibilities

• Execute trades across major EU gas markets, focusing on both physical and financial opportunities.
• Optimise storage, transportation, and capacity portfolios to maximise profitability.
• Develop and implement data-driven trading strategies and tools for market analysis.
• Conduct thorough analysis of market fundamentals, logistics, and trends to capitalise on trading opportunities.
• Manage risk and compliance effectively while ensuring adherence to company mandates.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the gas trading desk and identify areas for growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including analytics and operations, to enhance trading performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in European natural gas trading, with a proven track record of success.
• In-depth understanding of gas fundamentals, logistics, and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise complex portfolios and identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative tools and programming (e.g., Python, R, or Excel VBA).
• A robust network within the natural gas industry.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
