Job Description

A Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst plays a critical role in a company's financial strategy by interpreting financial data and trends to provide valuable insights that guide business decisions. This position is responsible for developing and implementing financial models, preparing forecasts, and delivering insights to senior management on potential risks and opportunities. The Senior FP&A Analyst collaborates with different departments to ensure the financial health of the organization and supports strategic planning efforts. This role is key in driving efficiency and profitability by closely monitoring financial performance against budgets and industry benchmarks, and recommending actionable steps to achieve financial objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
  • Analyze financial results and variances to provide actionable insights to management.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior leaders to aid in decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and assumptions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to identify financial trends and risks.
  • Assist in strategic planning and the preparation of long-term financial plans.
  • Coordinate with department heads to develop detailed annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide support and analysis during mergers, acquisitions, and other financial projects.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction and operational improvements to enhance profitability.
  • Present complex financial concepts in accessible terms for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor junior FP&A analysts in developing their analytical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with financial reporting software such as SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
