To provide technical expertise on all relevant Flight Operations Engineering aspects, including but not limited to aircraft performance, weight and balance, minimum equipment list, aircraft documentation, operations planning and optimisation, fuel conservation and operating cost optimisation, while acting as a focal point for the Boeing 787 entry into service (EIS) at flydubai.
Key Responsibilities
Leads all Flight Operations Engineering aspects of the B787 EIS and provides strategic guidance to senior management.
Assesses the flight operations engineering elements of new airports to identify, highlight, and mitigate potential constraints.
Designs, validates, and revises engine out procedures to optimise take-off and landing performance.
Provides technical expertise and assistance on all aspects of Flight Operations Engineering.
Leads the development of performance documentation, including technical content, customisation, revision, and production, for relevant published manuals and support materials.
Ensures that all flight operations engineering procedures are compliant, optimised, and current with regulatory and operational requirements.
Develops and updates the ‘Weight and Balance’ documents and ‘Departure Control System’, including aircraft reweighs, new interior configuration, and loading schedule design.
Develops the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) for new aircraft types and assists with the updates for the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) of the existing fleet.
Provides analysis and resolution on any aircraft performance related non normal procedures, or dispatch under MEL items.
Conducts aircraft performance, weight and balance, and Boeing OPT staff training.
Supports the Flight Ops Technical management by providing key input and support for fleet and route evaluations, taking into account regulatory compliance and aircraft performance.
Supports the flydubai EFB and e-Enablement strategy on all relevant aircraft Electronic Checklists (ECL) ensuring accuracy, and compliance with regulation and operational procedures.
Represents flydubai and its interests at internal and external meetings.
Represents Flight Operations Engineering during internal, GCAA and IOSA audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
Degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
Fluent in English (other languages an advantage)
Significant experience in an airline or OEM Flight Operations Engineering department
Significant experience and knowledge of the Boeing 787 is a prerequisite
Experience of freighter Weight & Balance is preferred
Previous experience in developing Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Electronic Checklist (ECL) is essential Knowledge of B787 aircraft systems is mandatory
