Job Description

The Senior Estimator (08N25) plays a crucial role in the construction and engineering sectors by evaluating and preparing comprehensive cost estimates for projects. This position demands a high level of expertise in analyzing documentation to determine timelines, budgets, labor, material, and equipment requirements. The Senior Estimator collaborates with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors to ensure that project estimates are accurate and completed on time. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of construction processes. As a Senior Estimator, you will significantly influence project execution and help drive the financial success of projects by managing costs and resources effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements documents to develop detailed cost estimates and proposals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of all project phases to identify potential risks.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to gather essential project information.
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs and summaries, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Utilize estimating software to enhance accuracy and efficiency of cost projections.
  • Review historical data and industry standards to guide accurate cost forecasting.
  • Attend client meetings to present estimates and discuss project development insights.
  • Develop strategies to optimize value engineering without compromising on quality and compliance.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust estimates to reflect current industry conditions.
  • Oversee junior estimators, providing guidance and ensuring deliverables meet high standards.
  • Regularly update estimates to reflect change orders and project scope modifications.
  • Compile and present final bid packages to the executive team for approval and submission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is essential.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating or a related role required.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software, such as PlanSwift or Bluebeam, necessary.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and industry regulations is crucial.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage large-scale projects successfully.
