We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior Electronics Lab Technician who will prepare devices for network certification testing and build and maintain the manufacturing test equipment and fixtures used by our Production and Automotive teams. What youll do:

As a Senior Electronics Lab Technician your key area of responsibility will be building, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic production jigs and equipment, as well as assembling, programming, and testing Geotab GO and IOX devices. You will solder and desolder components, design and assemble wiring harnesses, apply labels, load firmware as requested by certification specialists, and run devices through test procedures to validate compliance with lab requirements. You will need to work closely with the Test and Automation Engineering team, as well as the Production and Automotive teams, to ensure equipment and test procedures meet quality standards.

To be successful in this role you will be a highly organized self-starter who can multitask and stay calm under pressure and fast-changing priorities, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and correct the root causes of equipment, product, and process failures. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to read technical drawings and schematics, and a genuine interest in staying current with new technologies and testing techniques.

How youll make an impact:

Build, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic production jigs and equipment
Assemble, program, and test Geotab GO and IOX devices, including soldering/desoldering and harness assembly
Load firmware and run devices through test procedures to validate compliance ahead of network certification
Document device details, procedures, best practices, templates, and tools for the wider team
Provide expert subject matter guidance, mentor and train new team members, and support automation initiatives
Support global strategic initiatives across the Test and Automation function

What youll bring to the role:

8+ years of experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting, with strong troubleshooting techniques
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, with manual dexterity and comfort using test measuring tools
Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field
IPC Certification (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/IPC-7721, IPC J-STD-001) is an asset
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and shifting priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort with Google Suite
A team player with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a flat organization

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individuals ability to pass a background check.
