The Structuring Team is an important part of the Sales & Structuring Desk. It enables the Bank to offer bespoke derivative solutions for risk management, financing and investment purpose to all clients within Wholesale Banking, International Banking and Retail Banking Wealth Management. This value added service allows the Bank to earn additional fee revenues.
The Unit is responsible for product development, idea generation and executions of complex derivative and financing transactions. It also ensures that all concerns of the stakeholders related to the transactions are met. The Unit is also responsible for hedging the client derivative transactions back-to-back with eligible counterparties where the Bank does not have internal trading capabilities.
Job Purpose
The job holder must have (essential):
Extensive knowledge of and experience with working with vanilla and complex Commodity products – Hydrocarbons, Metals, Agricultural commodities, Commodity Financing - expertise in how they are priced, hedged, accounted for, documented – with the objective of pro-actively producing innovative Commodity-linked financing, hedging and investment ideas for Treasury Sales and Group RMs to market to their clients
Working knowledge of Interest Rates, FX and Credit derivative products – good understanding of how they are priced, hedged, documented, payoff and risk profile
The ability to prepare trade terms and conditions, marketing materials and booking models for new products and structures
The ability to create and maintain excellent relationships with:
Internal stakeholders (AWAI, MTCR, GCD, Treasury Finance, Treasury Middle Office, Treasury Operations, Group Legal and Compliance) and address their concerns related to the new transactions
Internal clients – TRY Sales, RMs, coverage teams at ENBD branches and subsidiaries
Counterparty banks who provide pricing on exotic products to execute trades as necessary on a back-to-back basis
Job Content
The annual structured product/derivative budget.
Generate ideas and show the same to Sales Teams, RMs and clients. In case of reverse enquiry, show ideas that suits client’s requirement.
Provide trade ideas, marketing material and term sheets about the desired products.
Generate trade ideas. Provide accurate marketing materials and term sheets ensuring the products are approved.
Provide structured product/derivative pricing correctly and efficiently to the Sales Teams and other Group entities. Executing trades which go live.
Ensuring that the trade is priced or pricing can be obtained at short notice when trade goes live and ensuring terms and conditions of trades have been communicated correctly to the Trading Desk or to the counterparty banks.
Ensuring process efficiency by maintaining close relationship with various internal departments like AWAI, MTCR, GCD, Treasury Finance, Treasury Middle Office, Treasury Operations, Group Legal and Compliance.
During the lifecycle of the trade work closely with various departments so their concerns are met and all internal approvals and booking of trade etc. is done on time.
Immediate and correct input of all deals into the Treasury system to ensure correct risk management etc.
Each deal requires an entry into the Treasury system and it is crucial to get this 100% correct as clients’ accounts and profit & loss details will be impacted.
Ensuring that the structured product/derivative sales process completed as per the relevant external and internal regulations
During the lifecycle of the trade work closely with Sales Team and other stakeholders and make sure that the trades are executed in line with the relevant policies in order to avoid audit findings.
Education
Good academic background from leading college. Understanding of basic economics. Professional qualifications.
ACI dealing certificate
Experiences
Working for a bank where exposure to Relationship Management, Treasury products, sales/customer experience is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of Treasury products include FX, Spot, Forwards, bonds and credit.
Good understanding & pricing knowledge of Commodity and FX derivatives and structured financing.
Good level of understanding of building blocks of structure products and their pricing across all asset classes.
Ability to price products using in house pricing tool.
Ability to use Microsoft Office tools
