Senior Devops Engineer

Position: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Onsite - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Type of Contract: Full time contract

Job Overview: We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled candidate who can deploy our stack in high availability mode, make sure it’s observed and monitored, set notifications and take corrective actions in case of failures and/or disasters.

Reporting to: Head of Software Engineering

Job Responsibilities:

• Setup and Deployment of Kubernetes production and development

clusters.

• Applying Kubernetes Operators for our database and middleware tier,

making sure our site can operate fully automated with human

intervention reduced to minimum

• Implementing efficient early warning system for memory, storage and

cpu consumption for all system components

• Implementing Monitoring System of Critical System components and

efficient notification system in case of critical or severe problems

• Providing monitoring solutions for recording business transactions

• Providing solutions to observe and access our system logs without need

to directly access to our servers from command line

• Providing solutions to gather and visualize statistics originating from

our containerized workload

• Following GitOps and SecOps practices

• Infrastrastructure -as-a-code practitioner, since each setup or

configuration step should be scripted in Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible or

Bash to allow easy expansion of our product in the region and further

• Providing guidance to software development teams in cases container

image reduction would be beneficial

• Establishing internal repository of internal container images

• Collaborate with Chief Technology Officer, Software Development

Manager and Chief Software Architect to deliver a modern and intuitive

product thats both functional, performant, actively monitored and

observable.

• Outside-the-box thinker when it comes to complex problems and

provider of balanced feedback to his peers from software development

team.

• Help triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues found during testing and in

our production systems.

• Automate log anomalies detection and setup notification system for

suspicious cases

• Identify potential problems and resolve middleware and platform

bottlenecks for performance optimization

• Stay up to date with the latest technological developments and

proactively integrate new tools and techniques to prevent our

production site breaches

• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow both personally and

professionally, seeking out new challenges and opportunities for

development.

• Youll also serve as the contributor of our DevOps and Security playbooks

and runbooks, utilizing your accumulated knowledge and experience to

guide your peers when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Batchelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software

Engineering or relevant work experience.

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, SecOps, GitOps • 3+

years of experience in running containerized high availability setup

of at least three from the following list PostgreSQL, Keycloak,

MinIO, Consul, Vault, Kafka, Redis Cache

• 3+ years experience setting up efficient caching techs such as

Redis, Aerospike, Memcache, Hazelcast, & Oracle Coherence.

• Previous experience in using Kubernetes operator usage for

PostgreSql, Kafka or Keycloak

• Previous experience with provisioning tools like Pulumi or

Terraform

• Previous experience with Kubernetes Helm charts • 3+ years of

experience with Graphana, Prometheus, Jaeger, EFK or ELK log stack

• Previous experience in setting a SIEM tool like Elastic SIEM or similar

tool would be advantageous

• Knowledge of at least one high-level programming language is

required Go, Python, C, C++, Java, C#, Ruby since you are required

to write smoke tests for every service or

infrastructure you have setup.

• Previous experience in configuring up hardware (Barracuda, F5)

and/or and switches would catch our immediate attention

• Able to automate health systems checks after production

release and notifications

• Able to setup anomalies detection from the app logs and isolate

suspicious activity

• Previous experience with IoT ecosystem would be strongly

preferred.
