We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, patching, and operational support of enterprise databases across Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of business-critical database environments while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will do:
Perform day-to-day administration and L2/L3 production support for enterprise databases.
Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, replication, and storage utilization.
Manage database configurations, users, roles, privileges, and access controls.
Perform backup, recovery, restore, replication, and disaster recovery (DR) activities, and participate in DR exercises.
Execute database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation activities.
Troubleshoot database performance issues, including CPU, memory, I/O, locking, blocking, and query performance.
Manage incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with ITIL/ITSM processes.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major or recurring incidents and implement corrective actions.
Support high-availability (HA), clustering, and replication solutions.
Administer and support Oracle databases and database services hosted on OCI, including connectivity, monitoring, backup, and operational troubleshooting.
Develop scripts and automation solutions for health checks, monitoring, maintenance, and routine DBA activities.
Maintain database operational procedures, runbooks, and technical documentation.
Collaborate closely with Application, Infrastructure, Storage, Network, Security, and vendor teams.
What you will bring:
A minimum of 8 years of enterprise DBA experience, with strong hands-on production administration across Oracle and multiple database platforms.
Strong experience with Oracle Database and OCI, including RMAN, ASM, RAC, performance tuning, patching/upgrades, OCI database services, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on administration experience with PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backup and recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuning.
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
Good understanding of SAN/NAS storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and ServiceNow/ITSM platforms.
Scripting and automation skills using Shell, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent technologies.
Strong production troubleshooting, ownership, and incident management skills.
Oracle certification (OCP) or equivalent is preferred.
PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Cassandra certifications are an advantage.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise or telecommunications environments.
Experience supporting highly available, business-critical production databases.
Experience with cloud database technologies is considered a plus.
