About the Role
Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia OR Dubai, UAE, the Senior Consultant will lead end-to-end research, consulting, and advisory engagements across supply chain, logistics, 3PL/4PL, and contract logistics. The role spans opportunity qualification, proposal development, project delivery, executive communication, implementation support, and closure, with accountability for converting market intelligence and operational analysis into measurable client outcomes. A practical understanding of warehousing and fulfilment operations is required to support broader logistics advisory, rather than hands-on warehouse operations expertise.
This is a consulting and advisory role, not an operational logistics or warehouse-management position.
The final position title and internal level will be determined through the interview and assessment process.
Responsibilities
- Engagement Leadership: Lead supply chain, logistics, 3PL/4PL, and contract-logistics engagements from origination and contracting through delivery, implementation, client acceptance, and closure, with full accountability for outcomes.
- Governance and Delivery: Translate scope into an integrated delivery plan with clear workstreams, milestones, resources, budget, decision rights, reporting, and escalation protocols.
- Research and Intelligence: Direct primary research and convert market, customer, competitor, regulatory, technology, and investment intelligence into clear strategic implications.
- Supply Chain, 3PL/4PL and Contract Logistics Advisory: Advise on supply chain strategy, logistics operating models, outsourcing and insourcing decisions, 3PL/4PL strategy, provider selection, contract-logistics solutions, network design, service levels, commercial models, governance, and performance improvement.
- Warehousing and Fulfilment Know-How:
A working understanding of logistics and fulfilment operations is required to support strategic advisory work; this is not an operational warehouse, transport, or logistics-management role.
- Strategy and Business Cases: Develop fact-based strategies, financial models, investment cases, KPI frameworks, and prioritised transformation roadmaps that quantify value, risk, and feasibility.
- Executive Client Leadership: Act as the senior day-to-day client lead, steer governance forums, align stakeholders, resolve escalations, and secure timely decisions and approvals.
- Team Leadership: Direct multidisciplinary workstreams, allocate resources, manage dependencies, remove delivery barriers, and coach teams to deliver with pace and quality.
- Commercial and Risk Control: Own project economics, scope, margin, billing, risks, issues, and change control; address variances early and protect delivery commitments.
- Quality and Executive Communication: Set quality standards and ensure proposals, analyses, reports, and C-suite presentations are rigorous, concise, and decision-ready.
- Implementation and Value Realisation: Convert recommendations into accountable action plans, support execution and handover, and track delivery against agreed KPIs and benefits.
- Practice Growth: Advance proposals, thought leadership, methodologies, client development, and ecosystem relationships across the region.
Required Competencies
What we are looking for:
Consulting & Advisory | Commercial & BD | Supply Chain/Logistics Expertise | GCC Experience | Executive Client Leadership.
The ideal candidate combines strong supply chain, logistics, 3PL/4PL, and contract-logistics expertise with consulting discipline, research capability, commercial judgement, and proven ownership of complex advisory engagements. A sound understanding of warehousing and fulfilment is expected, but direct warehouse operations experience is not essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, operations, economics, business, or a related discipline; a relevant master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- 8–10+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, market intelligence, supply chain/logistics advisory, or consulting-led 3PL/4PL and contract-logistics engagements. Candidates should demonstrate substantial experience in client-facing advisory work rather than primarily operational logistics roles.
- Consulting Mindset: Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous business problems, develop hypotheses, challenge client assumptions, synthesise diverse information, and translate complex analysis into commercially actionable recommendations.
- Proven experience leading complex, client-facing supply chain, logistics, 3PL/4PL, and contract-logistics advisory engagements, with accountability for delivery, commercial performance, risk, quality, executive communication, implementation support, and closure.
- Advanced research and analytical capability, with experience synthesising quantitative and qualitative evidence into defensible insights, scenarios, business cases, and recommendations.
- Strong working knowledge of logistics technologies and digital enablers, including transport and warehouse management systems, visibility platforms, control towers, analytics, automation, and integration across shipper, 3PL/4PL, and contract-logistics environments.
- Strong GCC/Middle East consulting or advisory experience is strongly preferred, with demonstrated understanding of Saudi Arabia and/or UAE market dynamics. Candidates should ideally have experience working directly with GCC clients, decision-makers, government entities, major enterprises, logistics providers, or investors.
- Established regional relationships with 3PL/4PL providers, contract-logistics companies, shippers, freight and technology partners, and relevant decision-makers are important.
- Excellent client-management, facilitation, proposal-writing, report-writing, and executive-presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly and persuasively.
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing scope, budgets, utilisation, delivery risks, change requests, and client expectations.
- Proven ability to lead project teams, coach analysts and consultants, collaborate across functions, and maintain high standards under demanding timelines.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with supply chain analytics, visualisation, modelling, or specialist planning tools is preferred.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; Arabic-language skills are an added advantage.
- Added advantage: Experience in logistics infrastructure, freight corridors, multimodal connectivity, or land-transport interfaces where directly relevant to supply chain and logistics advisory.
