The Senior Category Manager for Cosmetics is a pivotal role within our organization, overseeing the strategic development and management of our cosmetics category. This position requires a visionary leader and adept strategist who can drive profitability and market share growth within our cosmetics sector. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge and experience in the cosmetics industry, coupled with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. As a Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing product assortment, managing supplier relationships, and implementing marketing initiatives to achieve our business objectives. You will also lead a team to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction by ensuring the availability of high-quality, innovative cosmetic products.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Lead category analysis to assess market trends and consumer behavior patterns.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate product performance and customer feedback consistently.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create impactful campaigns for product launches.
  • Identify new product opportunities and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels and timely replenishment of product inventory.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategies to maintain market advantage.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and meet business goals.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and mentorship to team members for career development.
  • Present category insights and strategic recommendations to senior management regularly.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to forecast trends and inform strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in category management or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the cosmetics industry and market dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret market data effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
  • Solid understanding of merchandising principles and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
