Job Description

As a Senior Category Manager in the cosmetics sector, you will play a critical role in shaping category strategies and driving business growth. You will be responsible for overseeing product line performance, analyzing market trends, and developing strategic plans to improve market share and profitability. You will lead cross-functional teams in executing product launches and promotional activities, while closely collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders. Your expertise will contribute to forecasting demand, optimizing inventory, and ensuring product availability. Furthermore, you will leverage consumer insights to inform decisions and strategies that align with the company's objectives and brand vision, helping to expand our scope within the competitive cosmetics landscape.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the cosmetics product category.
  • Lead market research initiatives to identify new trends and opportunities.
  • Analyze sales data to assess category performance and inform decisions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and manage relationships.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to plan and execute promotional activities.
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Work with product development teams to advance new product launches.
  • Monitor competitor activities and benchmark market strategies accordingly.
  • Foster a high-performing team through leadership and expertise sharing.
  • Ensure activities are aligned with the brand's vision and company goals.
  • Prepare and present reports on category performance to senior management.
  • Drive innovation by integrating consumer insights into strategic plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as a Category Manager in the cosmetics industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in market research and data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of consumer behavior and current cosmetics market trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs.
