We are seeking a commercially driven and strategic Senior Buyer to lead category growth, maximize profitability, and strengthen vendor partnerships within a dynamic retail environment. This role is responsible for end-to-end category management, buying strategy, merchandise planning, vendor negotiation, and team leadership.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with market insight, trend awareness, and negotiation expertise to deliver sustained category growth.
Key Responsibilities
Buying Strategy & Budget Planning
Develop and execute category strategies aligned with overall business and merchandise plans
Plan and manage buying budgets to drive sales and gross margin growth
Identify category growth opportunities and build long-term growth pillars
Ensure timely procurement to achieve sales and profit targets
Implement cost reduction strategies through centralized bulk buying and optimized vendor mix
Category & Brand Management
Drive sales and margin performance across assigned categories/brands
Oversee pricing, promotion, assortment, and allocation strategies
Monitor and review performance using structured scorecards and KPIs
Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration across planning, operations, e-commerce, and finance
Maintain and grow relationships with key strategic vendors
Vendor Management
Develop and expand vendor base through active scouting and negotiation
Negotiate commercial terms to maximize profitability and cash flow
Evaluate vendor capabilities through market visits, trade shows, and product demonstrations
Continuously renegotiate to maintain competitive advantage
Order & Supply Chain Management
Collaborate with Planning team on demand forecasting and order placement
Ensure merchandise delivery as per agreed service level agreements
Track logistics from supplier to distribution center
Manage reverse logistics for faulty/damaged goods
Merchandise Planning & Analytics
Supervise merchandise analytics and sourcing triggers
Align buying decisions with sales forecasts, inventory checks, and seasonal events
Conduct territory visits across GCC markets
Perform in-season management to protect margin and maximize sell-through
Quality Control
Define and oversee quality control standards and processes
Ensure all procured merchandise meets defined quality benchmarks
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop Buyers, Assistant Buyers, Designers, and Coordinators
Drive performance management and succession planning
Build a collaborative, high-performance culture
Enhance team productivity through structured coaching and training
