Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods at advantageous prices while maintaining high standards of quality. As a Senior Buyer, you will have the opportunity to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with various departments to optimize our purchasing activities. A strong analytical mind and the ability to forecast market trends are essential for this role, as you will be expected to make informed purchasing decisions that align with our company’s strategic goals. This position requires excellent communication and negotiation skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that effectively increase cost-efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and service.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and assess market trends.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs and specifications.
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers and address any issues that may arise promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant procurement data.
  • Develop and manage the supplier performance scorecard and improvement plans.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure alignment on budgetary goals.
  • Implement procurement best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising on quality or standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Buyer, with at least 5 years in a similar role.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a strong aptitude for financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
