To analyze financial situation and credit worthiness by conducting complete credit analysis (i.e., gathering data, generating key ratios and checking ratios vs benchmarks and competitors) of corporate metal customers, financial institutions, banks, and other counterparties to accurately assess customers’ credit worthiness as per guidelines of credit risk policy, corporate governance model and in accordance with the group credit risk management philosophy
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Policies, Processes & Procedures
Follow departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls to ensure consistency, standardization and accuracy in ways of working.
Support seniors in the review and revision of methodologies, procedures and processes in line with EGA group-wide requirements and international standards.
Monitor compliance with approved credit limits, policy requirements and exception approvals and recommend corrective actions where required.
Maintain accurate credit records, documentation and audit trails in accordance with governance and regulatory requirements.
Support policy development, governance reviews and audit activities by ensuring adherence to credit risk frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Day-to-day operations
Manage the day-to-day operations of credit analysis to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
Conduct new and periodic credit reviews and prepare Credit Approval Reviews with clear recommendations on credit exposure, limits and payment terms.
Prepare business documents, management updates, committee papers and presentations to support informed decision-making.
Provide professional credit risk advice and recommendations to management and business stakeholders and influence risk-based decisions
Risk Assessment
Ensure timely preparation of credit assessment reviews for new and existing customers, financial institutions and counterparties.
Assess industry, country, market and geopolitical risks and evaluate their potential impact on customers, counterparties and the credit portfolio.
Analyse financial information and assess the creditworthiness of customers, financial institutions and counterparties across a global portfolio through comprehensive financial, business and qualitative analysis
Conduct credit and counterparty risk assessments for strategic vendors and key business partners, supporting risk-based decisions and appropriate mitigation measures.

Recommend and maintain credit limits, payment terms and credit structures based on risk assessment, business requirements and approved governance frameworks.
Assess financial institution counterparties and recommend treasury limits for cash deposits, foreign exchange hedging and commodity hedging activities in accordance with approved credit risk methodologies and risk appetite.
Conduct credit and counterparty risk assessments for strategic vendors and key business partners, supporting risk-based decisions and appropriate mitigation measures.
Conduct periodic counterparty credit limit reviews for customers, financial institutions, banks, strategic vendors and other counterparties, ensuring limits remain aligned with financial performance, risk appetite and business requirements.
Structure and recommend risk mitigation solutions, including credit insurance, parental guarantees, bank guarantees, collateral and other risk transfer mechanisms.
Monitor customer and counterparty performance, identify early warning signs, deteriorating trends and emerging risks, and escalate material risks with appropriate mitigation recommendations.
Support other departments in EGA by conducting counterparty assessment reviews, identifying key risks and proposing suitable risk mitigation strategies.
Conduct sector analysis to understand customer positioning and industry risk trends.
Perform daily monitoring of market news, customer updates and relevant credit risk developments.
Approve credit decisions within delegated authority limits and escalate higher-risk exposures in accordance with approval authorities and governance requirements.
Perform other credit risk-related duties assigned by the Credit Risk Manager.
Risk Reporting and Follow-up
Arrange information on customers by regularly obtaining their financials, mercantile reports.
Identify, manage and report critical customer risks and propose mitigation strategy.
Produce credit risk reports, portfolio analytics and management insights covering EGA's global portfolio of customers and counterparties, including exposure concentrations, portfolio quality, sector trends and emerging risks, to support strategic decision-making and portfolio oversight.
Conduct periodic counterparty credit limit reviews for customers, financial institutions, banks, strategic vendors and other counterparties, increasing the frequency and volume of reviews where warranted by risk exposure, market conditions or business requirements.
Conduct customer calls, customer visits and stakeholder meetings to strengthen risk assessment, validate information and develop business insights, and prepare call and visit summary reports for management review.
Support credit strategy, portfolio optimization and portfolio quality management by balancing risk, return and business growth objectives
Sales Support and Customer Management
Liaise with Account receivables team for any corrective action warranted in case of payment delays by customer.
Resolve credit insurance underwriters queries on clients as and when required.
Closely coordinate with sales team to determine credit limit requirements and share internal credit assessment results.
Support commercial negotiations by advising on payment terms, credit conditions and risk mitigation requirements.
Collaborate with sales, finance, treasury, legal, receivables and other stakeholders to support effective credit risk management.
Engage with external stakeholders, including insurers, rating agencies and information providers
Credit Systems
Update approved credit limits on SAP System.
Initiate SAP systems enhancements for efficient customer credit monitoring and controls.
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance SAP systems for a more efficient credit risk management.
Drive automation and digitalisation initiatives to improve credit risk assessment, monitoring and reporting capabilities.
Use advanced Excel and data analytics to enhance credit monitoring, portfolio reporting and management insights
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing and credit risk best practices across the organization
Safety, Quality & Environment
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the section in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Commerce / Finance / Banking or other relevant degree
Minimum Experience:
4-7 years’ relevant experience preferably in credit risk/accounting/banking
