Job Description

The Senior Accounts Assistant is an essential role within our finance department, responsible for supporting the accounting functions and ensuring the smooth operation of financial transactions. This position demands a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The Senior Accounts Assistant will assist with managing accounts, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will also be responsible for liaising with other departments to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Your role is pivotal in facilitating effective financial operations and contributing to the overall success of our financial goals.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports for management review.
  • Support the month-end accounting close process with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Monitor and process accounts payable and receivable transactions promptly.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance during financial audits.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary financial information.
  • Participate in the implementation and improvement of financial systems and processes.
  • Prepare, process, and review monthly account reconciliations for discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and trainees.
  • Attempt to improve departmental efficiencies and work collaboratively towards goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate within and across departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
