Job Description

The Senior Accounts Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial records of the organization. This role demands a meticulous individual who can ensure accuracy and clarity in financial reporting. As the Senior Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for providing vital support in the areas of bookkeeping, management of accounts, and generation of financial reports. You will work closely with other finance professionals, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department. You must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial procedures and regulations. Your expertise will aid in budget management, tax compliance, and financial planning, ensuring that the company’s financial health is in top condition.


Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day general ledger entries and ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Oversee and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support the month-end and year-end financial close processes diligently.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and complete necessary reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations consistently.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the annual and quarterly company budgets.
  • Analyze financial data to recognize trends and anomalies for management consideration.
  • Conduct regular audits to improve efficiencies and reduce financial discrepancies.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, and customers regarding financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all income, expenses, and transactions.
  • Assist in preparing tax documents and ensuring tax compliance and submission.
  • Advise management on cost-effective measures and budget limitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience of at least three years in accounting or finance roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations is essential.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Professional certification like CPA or ACCA would be an added advantage.
  • Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting is highly desirable.
