Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports to: Finance Director
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Type: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Dubai. In this role, you will lead the day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations, and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and capable of driving continuous improvement in accounting processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and actionable recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Oversee tax filings and ensure compliance with VAT and corporate tax regulations.
- Evaluate and enhance internal accounting procedures and controls.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Director.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including a supervisory or senior-level role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in Odoo ERP or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth understanding of UAE tax laws and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
