Senior Accountant - Car Rental

Job Overview

The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee the full spectrum of accounting activities, including financial statement finalization, budgeting, cash flow management, and VAT compliance. This role requires strong analytical and reporting skills to ensure the financial stability and operational efficiency of the car rental business.

Key Responsibilities

• Finalize the Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, and Balance Sheet on a monthly and yearly basis.
• Prepare and finalize annual budgets and monitor actual performance against projections.
• Analyze and report funds flow and cash flow positions to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring timely billing, collections, and vendor payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records of cash and bank transactions.
• Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with statutory requirements.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist in cost control initiatives and provide insights to management for informed financial decision-making.
• Maintain accurate accounting documentation to ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance in all financial transactions.
• Utilize accounting software and Excel for financial reporting and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA/CPA/ACCA qualification preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the car rental, automotive, or service industry.
• Proven expertise in finalization of accounts, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Strong knowledge of VAT compliance and reporting.
• Experience in handling internal and external audits.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or Oracle.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
