Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role within our finance department, overseeing financial operations to ensure accurate ledger maintenance, efficient reporting, and regulatory compliance. As a key figure in our fiscal management team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements that provide management with insights for decision-making. They will handle complex accounting issues, perform account reconciliations, and assist with audits and tax filings. This role demands a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities and a proficiency in accounting software. The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-oriented, and has a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including ledger reviews and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis of financial data to assist management decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate audit processes, ensuring all audit requirements are met.
  • Manage and track the accounting for company assets and inventory valuation processes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance department efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and advice on complex accounting issues to junior staff members.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate taxes and other statutory requirements.
  • Monitor the company's financial transactions to ensure legality and compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives that require accounting expertise and judgment.
  • Prepare and review budgeting and forecasting reports to guide financial decisions and strategies.
  • Continuously improve accounting systems and procedures to increase productivity and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in an accounting or finance role.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP, is required.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
