Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing and executing financial tasks that are essential for the financial health and operational success of a company. This position requires a seasoned professional adept in advanced accounting practices, including financial reporting, analysis, and strategic planning. A Senior Accountant must possess a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and demonstrate the ability to handle complex financial transactions. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure effective financial management and reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. They should also possess excellent communication and leadership skills to guide junior accounting staff and ensure cohesive team performance. Additionally, proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems is essential to streamline accounting processes and enhance the organization's financial practices.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and make informed strategic recommendations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning activities.
  • Ensure all accounting processes align with current financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze pertinent financial information.
  • Lead and develop junior accountants through training and mentorship initiatives.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Maintain and improve upon existing accounting systems and software applications.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and financial information.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors to prepare and file tax documentation accurately and timely.
  • Present financial reports and findings to senior management and stakeholders monthly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software, particularly ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to handle complex financial data.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax codes, and compliance matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience in managing accounting teams.
