Job Description

The Senior Accountant role is crucial within any finance department, offering technical expertise combined with strategic insights. This position serves as a critical link between junior accounting staff and upper-level management, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Senior Accountant will carry out essential accounting tasks and analyses to guide decision-making in the organization, enhance financial reporting processes, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. Working closely with both internal teams and external auditors, the Senior Accountant is integral in identifying financial trends, mitigating risks, and enabling the company to achieve its fiscal objectives. With a balanced approach of attention to detail and broad financial acumen, this role not only manages financial records but also optimizes financial performance and strategizes for future growth.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Analyze financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and timely.
  • Manage and support accounting staff to develop their skills and enhance team performance.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure clear communication and a smooth audit process.
  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies, initiating corrective actions if necessary.
  • Develop financial policies and procedures to ensure the robustness of accounting controls.
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure company compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Engage in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning processes.
  • Evaluate financial systems and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.
  • Stay updated on financial trends and regulatory changes to ensure proactive compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to handle complex financial data.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
