Job Description

The Senior Accountant is a pivotal role within our finance department, responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and guiding junior staff in day-to-day financial processes. As a Senior Accountant, you will analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide insights to aid strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates excellent organizational capabilities. You will work closely with other departments to streamline financial operations, implement policies, and explore opportunities for cost reductions. This role plays an essential part in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organization, contributing to its long-term success.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met without compromising data integrity.
  • Analyze financial data and present findings to senior management to guide decision-making.
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including account reconciliations and month-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial and operational audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective internal controls to enhance financial reporting accuracy and data security.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of company financial policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as necessary.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of accounting information by researching and interpreting accounting policies.
  • Play a key role in budgeting and forecasting processes to support business planning activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate and support the annual audit and tax filing processes, ensuring timely submission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant tax legislation and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential for success.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with various departments.
