Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including ledgers and account reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures to improve efficiency and financial control.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
• Coordinate with the finance team to prepare budgets and forecasts aligning with strategic goals.
• Review and analyze financial data, identifying trends and variances for decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and laws.
• Liaise with external auditors during audits and implement audit recommendations effectively.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff and facilitate their professional growth.
• Collaborate with IT team to ensure accounting systems and software are functioning optimally.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as required by the Finance Director.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred and advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles essential.
• Proven experience with financial reporting, accounting software, and ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial principles with attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact cross-departmentally.
