Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the finance and accounting department, responsible for managing the entire accounting process and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This position requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional with a firm understanding of accounting principles and standards. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights that drive key business decisions. They are tasked with maintaining compliance with governmental regulations and identifying areas for process improvements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a proactive approach to problem-solving, and can handle complex financial data to contribute towards the company's financial health and growth.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements in conformance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Coordinate end-to-end accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Perform detailed account analysis and reconcile complex financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts; present variances and suggestions.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely audits and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct internal audits to minimize risks and control issues within the organization.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies and assist with policy improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage the investments and financial transactions of the company.
  • Mentor and train junior accountants and ensure their compliance with standard practices.
  • Develop strategies to improve efficiencies in accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for better financial accuracy and decision-making support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting principles, guidelines, and statutory regulations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements is highly desired.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to mentor and guide team members effectively.
