Who You Are
- An experienced client partner and team leader with 3–5+ years in account management, preferably within social-first or creative agencies.
- A strategic thinker who understands how to grow accounts and drive measurable business results.
- Excellent at building and maintaining long-term client relationships based on trust and mutual success.
- Fluent in the world of social and digital marketing, with up-to-date knowledge of best practices and platform innovations.
- A clear and confident communicator, capable of leading client presentations and internal strategy sessions with impact.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and workflows under pressure, without compromising detail or quality.
- Commercially savvy, confident in budgeting, scoping, and forecasting account growth.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and relentless in finding opportunities for organic growth, upsell, and business development.
- Passionate about pop culture, entertainment, and social innovation. Arabic fluency is a plus.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Account Manager (SAM), your responsibility will extend across multiple accounts or one large account. Your core responsibility is client retention, specifically the management and renewal of social retainers.
Your role expectations extend to organic growth on the account as a result of building strong relationships with your clients, having a deep understanding of their objectives and product and delivery of excellent work.
Account Management & Client Relationship
- Lead day-to-day management of one large key account or multiple accounts, delivering Always-On social and strategic campaigns.
- Act as the bridge between clients and internal delivery teams, ensuring clear communication, proactive expectation management, and on-time delivery.
- Own client meetings, weekly status calls, and quarterly business reviews, presenting insights, strategies, and creative recommendations. As a SAM, you set the pace of the account
- Benchmark globally and regionally to identify best-in-class practices, providing proactive recommendations to keep Tactical ahead of the curve.
- Manage contracts, invoices, and credit control with Account Director support.
- Play a larger role in account growth, business development and pitches across your account and the agency as required
As a SAM, the expectation is you run your retainers independently with little to no support required from the Account Director.
Client escalations should be managed through you - You are confident at navigating difficult conversations and complex problems, unless business critical and / or they extend beyond your day to day stakeholder.
Should any issues arise where you believe you’d need support, you would consult your Account Director having prepped your own recommendations on how to manage the situation.
Client Strategy & Growth
As a SAM, your role extends beyond the planning expected of an Account Manager to more pertinent client strategy and intentional growth
- Own and grow a portfolio of key accounts across social, creative, and platform partnerships (e.g. Snapchat, TikTok, Spotify).
- Proactively identify pain points, quick wins, and innovation opportunities, sharing actionable recommendations before being asked.
- Build and execute strategic account plans that identify growth opportunities, upsell pathways, and proactive business development initiatives.
- Maintain a deep understanding of client objectives, industry trends, and competitor benchmarks to deliver best-in-class recommendations.
- Align on social strategies, ensuring execution aligns with client goals and Tactical’s creative excellence.
- Drive quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with clients, presenting insights, results, and innovation recommendations.
- Build relationships across multiple stakeholders and budget centers within client organisations. Expand your network within the industry / client patch, creating connections that feed into new opportunities for Tactical.
Commercial Accountability
- Accurately forecast account opportunities and associated revenue value
- Confidently work with project managers to understand how to commercialise a scope of work
- Start reviewing and understanding contractual agreements
- Track all opportunities and value in CRM, reporting weekly to senior leadership.
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and mentor Account Managers, Executives, and supporting team members, ensuring clarity on goals and standards.
- Set the pace and quality benchmark for all deliverables.
- Conduct monthly check-ins, growth conversations, and performance feedback for direct reports.
- Partner with internal teams to drive collaboration between social, creative, and production workflows.
Business Development
- Independently generate and qualify leads, contributing to new business pitches and proposals.
- Actively participate in new business opportunities, adding strategic value to proposals and presentations.
- Deliver senior-level ideas and presentations with confidence to help convert opportunities into revenue.
- Maintain and grow Tactical’s reputation as an innovation-first partner through thought leadership, networking, and proactive market engagement.
General
- Stay informed on emerging social platforms, creative tech, and cultural trends, ensuring Tactical stays ahead of the curve.
- Always manage expectations internally and externally; a client should never chase you for updates.
- Be a relentless problem solver, anticipating risks and resolving challenges before they escalate.
