SENCO

Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba is seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly skilled SENCO to join our established Inclusion Team from August 2025.

The successful candidate will further develop the outstanding school-wide culture of inclusion, across our campus, for children and students aged 2-16 years old, by continuing to improve the range of provision that the school offers and facilitating opportunities to up-skill staff from across the school.

As a senior leader, the SENCO will lead the campus inclusion team, comprising inclusion teachers, Deputy SENCO, learning support staff, as well as providing support to mainstream classroom teachers and learning assistants.

You will be part of a dynamic, passionate team, and responsible for providing an exceptional, forward-thinking, and innovative education to some of the most ambitious pupils in Dubai.

Purpose Of The Role

  • To raise standards of achievement of children with a SEND.
  • To support the middle leadership team to develop a comprehensive, and evolving programme of alternative pathways across EYFS, and Key Stages 1-5
  • To increase staff confidence and competence in teaching children with a SEN.
  • To ensure children with SEN have full entitlement to the Kings’ curriculum.

Requirements And Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Hold relevant Bachelor’s degree.   
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent.
  • NASENCO qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within SEND and Inclusion
  • Sound knowledge of international accreditation, inspection and evaluation frameworks, preferably within UAE.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written form
  • Knowledge of child protection CCET and AAC qualifications desired.
  • Wholly committed to inclusive education that meets the needs of the individual child.
  • A thorough knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and health and safety responsibilities at a senior level.
  • Designation Safeguarding Lead experience
  • A commitment to the wellbeing and pastoral care of all students.
  • An innovative, creative and enthusiastic practitioner who is able and willing to contribute to the team around them and the wider school community.
  • A commitment to evaluate and develop the wider, extra-curricular and enrichment programme.
  • Knowledge and understanding of alternative pathways in education, preferably within the UAE
