Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our secondary education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of the various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and physics. In this role, you will plan, develop, and deliver high-quality instruction that involves creative projects and experiments, fostering a positive and productive learning environment. You will assess students’ progress and performance, preparing them for examinations and further education. Additionally, you will collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the overall educational experience. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging science lessons and laboratory experiments.
  • Evaluate and assess students’ performance through tests, quizzes, and projects.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom conducive to learning and research.
  • Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies including technology integration.
  • Prepare students for standardized tests and advanced science courses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and share resources.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding academic progress and behavior.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
  • Supervise and mentor student teachers during their practicum placements.
  • Stay updated with current scientific advancements and educational trends.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of a multicultural student population.
  • Contribute to extracurricular science activities such as science fairs and clubs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related scientific field.
  • Teaching certification with a specialization in secondary science education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching science at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of biology, chemistry, and physics curricula.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and parents.
  • Ability to utilize technology effectively within the classroom environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students in the learning process.
