Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver comprehensive science lessons to secondary school students.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current scientific advancements and educational practices.
  • Utilize various teaching methodologies suited to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Encourage student participation and facilitate engaging classroom discussions.
  • Organize and conduct laboratory experiments and practical science investigations.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students to enhance their learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and cross-curricular activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to school-wide events, initiatives, and the ongoing development of the curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field is required.
  • State certification or licensure to teach science at the secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles and educational pedagogy.
  • At least two years of experience teaching science in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to utilize technology and digital resources in the classroom effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students to excel in science.
