ROLE SUMMARY:

Location: Remote, UK based (please note, you must be based in and fully authorised to work in the UK in order to be considered)

Start date: 1 September 2026

Contract: Maternity cover (September-December 2026)

Working pattern: Part-time, 0.8 FTE

Working hours: 2am BST start time

Salary: £36,000-£42,500 (this will be pro-rata'd to reflect 0.8 FTE), plus allowance for antisocial working hours

Online Biology Teacher – International Hours, UK Base:

Are you a passionate and dedicated Biology teacher looking for a unique opportunity to teach motivated students from around the world? We are seeking an exceptional online educator to join our international teaching team, delivering high-quality Biology lessons to learners in a different time zone. This role is designed specifically to support our international student community, which means classes are scheduled at 2:00 AM UK time. While these hours are unconventional, they provide an excellent opportunity for teachers who prefer working outside the traditional school day or require more flexibility. Teaching during these hours offers a quieter, distraction-free environment and the chance to work with highly engaged students who value personalised, high-quality education. If you are reliable, energetic during late-night hours, and committed to delivering outstanding online lessons, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on students' academic success while working from the comfort of your own home. We are looking for a teacher who can bring enthusiasm, subject expertise, and professionalism to every lesson, helping students build confidence and achieve excellent results in Biology through engaging and interactive online teaching. You must have the ability to teach Biology, up to year 13

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students
• Put Quality First Teaching at the front and centre of all tasks.
• Support the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness and the development of priorities for improvement
• Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model by their professional conduct and disposition
• Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and any class or group of students
• Provide guidance and advice to students on educational and wellbeing matters
• Provide or contribute to assessments, reports and references relating to students in a timely manner
• Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities
• Communicate with parents and other stakeholders to ensure they feel supported and receive the best possible outcome for students.
• Undertake any other work as specified by their line manager.
  
  

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Excellent written and communication skills
• Knowledge of the correct Safeguarding procedure
• Ability to work well in teams
• Able to work effectively in dynamic and changing environments
• Experience of working in the primary, secondary or college sector
• Experience of working in state or independent school sector
• Experience with creating resources and the ability to review and enhance our current course delivery
• Computer Literate with the ability to teach online using technology applications
• Knowledge of best ways to engage students in your subject of expertise.
• The capability to drive best practices and have a reputation for delivering high quality material.
• keen interest within the online teaching and learning environment, with a passion for the learning and development of students.
• A flexible, highly energetic approach and the ability to thrive in a business with a fast changing, collaborative, delivery culture.
