Science Laboratory Assistant (Lab Technician)

Department: Science Department

Reports To: Head of Science / MSO

Job Purpose

To provide efficient technical and administrative support to the Science Department by preparing laboratories for practical lessons, maintaining laboratory equipment and resources, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting teachers and students in the safe delivery of practical science activities. The role contributes to creating a safe, organised, and effective learning environment for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons.

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology, Applied Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Laboratory Assistant or Laboratory Technician, preferably in an educational environment.
• Good knowledge of laboratory practices, equipment maintenance, chemical handling, and laboratory safety procedures.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
