Sales Assistant - Sports 20J25

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our energetic team in the sports department. The successful candidate will have a passion for sports and an understanding of the products we offer. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers by providing knowledgeable support and advice. Your primary role will be to assist customers by offering product information, ensuring the store is organized, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities

• Assist customers with locating products and provide detailed product information.
• Maintain a visually appealing and organized display of merchandise on shelves.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and politely.
• Assist in inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts.
• Support the implementation of promotional activities and store events.
• Keep track of current sales trends and customer preferences in sports merchandise.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store sales targets.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Participate in regular training sessions to keep up-to-date with product knowledge.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures within the store.
• Assist with opening and closing duties of the store as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant retail experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-centered approach to sales.
• Basic understanding of POS systems and inventory management processes.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Interest in and knowledge of various sports products and equipment.
• Proficient in handling cash and managing credit/debit card transactions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
