Job Description

A Sales Accountant plays a vital role in an organizations financial department, focusing on the accounting and financial aspects of the sales function. This position is responsible for accurately recording and reporting sales transactions, tracking revenue, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Invoicing and Billing:

  • Generate and send invoices to customers as per SPA
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of invoicing information, including terms, payment plan and installment details.

Sales Transaction Recording:

  • Record and document all sales transactions, including invoices and sales orders for CRM.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of sales documentation.

Revenue Recognition:

  • Implement revenue recognition policies in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS 15).
  • Ensure that revenue is recognized accurately and in the appropriate accounting period.

Accounts Receivable Recognition:

  • Monitor accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies.

Sales Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file sales tax returns and maintain proper records.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports related to sales, revenue, and accounts receivable to management and stakeholders.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Sales Commission Calculations:

  • Calculate and track sales commissions for the sales team based on established commission structures.
  • Calculate and pay external brokers commissions
  • Ensure accurate and timely commission accruals and payments.

Cost of Sales:

  • Calculate and allocate the cost of sales (COGS) to sales transactions.
  • Monitor and report on gross profit margins.

Budget Support:

  • Assist in the development of sales-related budgets and forecasts.
  • Track actual sales performance against budgeted figures.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Prepare and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures
